Based on the world-beating Steingraeber 130 Upright Piano, the Phoenix 130 hails a new generation of upright piano building. With state of the art design and materials, and the equivalent acoustics of a baby grand, the balance and power of this piano put it well ahead in it’s field.
The Phoenix 130 comes with a choice of two actions:
First, the Steingraeber SFM ® Action gives a grand-piano-like, deep repetition for professionals. Four years of research and development and continuous improvements resulted in a new product which offers the ergonomic qualities of grand piano mechanisms in upright pianos. The Wessel, Nickel and Gross (WNG) Action with bushes which are unaffected by humidity, results in a consistently low friction system which enables the artist to play the instrument with less finger effort and in consequence, more accuracy. Performance at low volume is exceptionally controllable. For more information on this action, please click here.
The use of ultimate quality materials combined with the advanced technology of Hurstwood Farm Piano Studios in association with the one and a half centuries of experience and craftsmanship of Steingraeber Klaviermanufaktur, establish this piano amongst the top quality uprights available worldwide.
The piano comprises an Acoustic body by Steingraeber (Case, Frame and Fitting of the HWFPS designed carbon fibre sound board), carbon fibre Soundboard by Retrac Composites of Swindon, Keyboard by Otto Heuss, hammers of Special Premium Felt by Abel, developed for use with carbon fibre soundboards, and wound Bass strings in stainless steel or copper by EKA Ltd of Oxford or Heller of Germany.
